“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” – John Muir
Lately I have been struggling with an idea for a book project. I have the basic concept, a story outline and the vibe all in my head, but there’s something missing. I can’t put my finger on it. I know it’s a great idea, well, it would be if I found that missing piece.
Do you ever feel that way?
That you are on to something, but you’re just one puzzle piece away from a beautiful picture?
What works for me are long walks in the nearest park or woods I can find. Sometimes that’s hard to do in downtown Chicago, but I’ve found secret little alcoves of nature.
After nearly two weeks of daily walks, today the solution to my problem hit me…and I wasn’t even thinking about the problem when inspiration struck! Yes! So now I have my solution (and more), and I got a lot of exercise.
Take some time for you this weekend (and everyday). Seek nature. I promise the solitude is worth it!
Today is Day Four.
PS: I promise I will share just what my “big idea” is soon…I need to flesh it out a bit more, make it presentable, then I will unleash it to the world! Mwahahahahaha…
