Daily Blog #11 – Eliminating All Unnecessary Details

“Great design is eliminating all unnecessary details.” – Minh D. Tran

I love the above quote. Not because I am a designer. But because I am a writer, and I believe this quote on design could easily apply to the writer’s craft.

Perhaps if we re-phrased it as:

“Great writing is eliminating all unnecessary details.”

Think about that one for a second.

Design can inspire writing – through the process of editing, eliminating and getting to the core of the story.

Keep only what is essential. Leave all the rest behind.
