Daily Blog #147 – Sharpen The Ax

“If asked to chop down a cherry tree in four hours,
I would spend three hours sharpening the ax
…and one hour cutting down the tree.”
(Abraham Lincoln)

This is one of my favorite quotes by Lincoln. It offers us tremendous insight into how this great man thinks: preparation is everything.

Again, preparation is everything.

Whatever project you are working on, double the amount of time you have allotted for preparation. This will save you time – and more importantly, money – in the long run.

Spend your time sharpening the ax.

It will make cutting down the tree so much easier.
